WELL, this is a blog that I have decided to make for a few reasons. Number one, I always get so excited about all the things I have to tell you (referring to Mum and Dad) over the phone that I forget half of them by the time I have said goodbye and hung up and it's too late, and then the anecdotes have evaporated forever. So this way, I can put them on here before I forget and instead of wasting your time (and my minutes), you can read whenever you choose! Number two, I used to keep a diary and I haven't done so for about 3 years now and I miss it. Obviously this one won't be for me to divulge my deepest emotions and secret crushes, but it will be nice to look back on in the future when I'm senile and a lonely friendless spinster who would like to reminisce about the time she had friends...
And finally, my blog might start getting a bit un-PC soon as a few of my projects involve listening to words in their most raw forms - from the mouths of commoners on the streets of Brighton. So, as I'm sure you can imagine, they might not be nice to see on a page in front of you. So this "diary" can be my nice politically correct one that reminds you of what a nice member of the family I am.
Where better to start than Halloween 2010. The moment I got in from being home (My sister CARRIED the production she was in by the way, for anyone who's looking for the next best thing on the West End), I rushed upstairs followed by an excitable housemate (Rossie) to see if my fangs worked. They did. Fake nails cut down to shape stuck on with denture adhesive was a fanTASTIC idea (thank-you yahoo answers) and they were incredibly convincing, to the point where kids down the road ran back into their houses to get garlic (this didn't happen). After vamping up a bit with white face paint and dead eye make-up, I left the house accompanied by a rag doll and a dead flamenco dancer (we're art students...we like to do things unconventionally).
I considered leaving the house at the usual point around 1am when I start getting tired, but decided my fangs needed more air-time, they proved very popular amongst cliche skeleton facepaint and rubbish cat ears. Vampire is admittedly an obvious choice too, but the teeth definitely rescued me. Hence I walked home at roughly 3:30am, ready to get a few hours sleep before the 10am student rep meeting the next day!
